Weekly NBA Wrap: 16 July 2020

It’s official! NBA players have entered the bubble in Orlando!

Thanks to social media, NBA fans can stay up to date with all the action from inside the bubble. However, some players are already showing signs of struggling with the restrictions - how are they going to feel if they make it to the finals and are stuck in the bubble for three months?

Only time will tell…

Here’s your Weekly NBA Wrap.

Embiid Not Taking Any Chances

Joel Embiid has always been one of the most entertaining NBA players on the planet. Remember when he asked Rihanna out on twitter?

The NBA hiatus definitely hasn’t changed anything. After previously raising concerns about entering the NBA bubble, the 76ers superstar was taking no chances as he arrived for his flight to Orlando. He decked himself out in protective gear, including a mask, suit, and gloves. He even needed some assistance putting the outfit on!

Life in the Bubble

Since entering the bubble, NBA players have been using platforms like Twitter and Instagram to share their experiences with fans. Ben Simmons has taken up fishing, while others like Meyers Leonard and JJ Reddick are spending their time downing beers

A worry going into the bubble was that players wouldn’t be able to handle the restrictions. The twitter post below shows that cracks are already forming.

Rockets Superstar Tests Positive

The list of NBA players testing positive to COVID-19 continues to grow. This week, Russell Westbrook joined the list of players that have contracted coronavirus. The list is growing every week, with Westbrook joining players including

  • Thomas Bryant (Washington)
  • Gary Payton II (Washington)
  • Taurean Prince (Brooklyn)
  • Landry Shamet (Los Angeles Clippers)
  • Spencer Dinwiddie (Brooklyn)

Muscles vs. Weight Loss

Several NBA players look to have put the lockdown to good use, spending the period since March working on their physique. Looks like Zion Williamson and Rajon Rondo have both spent lockdown in the weights room. Apparently, Zion has lost 25 pounds of fat and added 10 pounds of muscle!

In contrast, it appears that both Nikola Jokic and Carmelo Anthony spent the bulk of their time on a treadmill.

Will these body changes have any impact on their performances?

Luka Trick Shots

Anyone who has watched any NBA over the last 2 years will know that Luka Doncic is one of the most talented players in the league. Paul Pierce event recently went as far as saying Doncic is the most talented player in the league.

Doncic is pulling out all his trick shots via the Mavericks twitter account.
